In April 2007, Telemundo anchorman Vicente Serrano came from Chicago to Detroit to interview five repatriados to be included in a documentary film on the Repatriation, which he hopes will be shown at the Chicago Film Festival. Serrano represents the next generation of descendents of repatriados in search of answers. His grandmother was a repatriada who was born in Los Angeles and was sent to Mexico as a child, where she remained. Serrano is a citizen of Mexico now living in Chicago.
